Dr. Kamau Bobb is on assignment to the National Science Foundation where he is a Program Officer in the Directorate for Computer & Information Science & Engineering. At Georgia Tech he is a research scientist for Policy Analysis at CEISMC and one of the chief strategists for STEM education for the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). Prior to his current assignment he served as a liaison to the University System of Georgia (USG) and was the coordinator of the USG system-wide STEM Initiative. Dr. Bobb has more than 10 years experience in STEM policy analysis and program implementation.
Dr. Marcia Chatelain, Associate Professor of History at Georgetown University, travels around the world to talk to communities about an array of topics, including her research on girls and young women of color, the connection between civil rights and food, the Black Lives Matter Movement, the 2016 presidential election, and social media campaigns, such as #FergusonSyllabus. Additionally, Dr. Chatelain conducts workshops on inclusive teaching, difficult dialogue in the classroom, and workplace dynamics around race, gender, sexuality, and social class.
Intercultural Speakers Series
Throughout the academic year, the Center for Cultural Engagement invites distinguished guests to CUA and speak to students about various topics related to building race, ethnicity, building intercultural capacity.
Each of these presentations will relate to one of the Center's three pillars; Sense of Self, Sense of Place & Sense of Responsibility.
