Robert Levine, "Frederick Douglass in Fiction: From Harriet Beecher Stowe to John Updike and James McBride"

Bob Levine is Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park. His books include The Lives of Frederick Douglass; Conspiracy and Romance: Studies in Brockden Brown, Cooper, Hawthorne, and Melville; Martin Delany, Frederick Douglass, and the Politics of Representative Identity, and Dislocating Race and Nation. He is the Executive Editor of the Norton Anthology of American Literature.
